Grahan & Green Goodies....

wow, its been a bit of a manic week, and I've just realised I haven't managed to squeeze in a blog post the whole week! :(
Finally I'm catching up on things over the long weekend, so I thought I'd share with you a recent buy which was a cushion I picked up from the Graham & Green website.... it goes perfectly with my recently made over chair for my office! and makes sitting at the computer a tad more comfortable!
Here it is.....
I had to wait a little while for it as they were sold out, and now they don't seem to be available online anymore, although these ones are a little similar.....
Then this morning we took the bus over to Brentford to check out the Graham & Green warehouse sale... I have to say I've been to one before and I don't think this one was quite as good, but I still picked up a few bits and bobs.... the most frustrating thing was queuing to pay - we must have queued for at least 40 mins!
So what did I buy? well, I picked up a few sheets of pretty wrapping paper, a couple of candle holders, and some hooks for our soon to be decorated kitchen....
Its a slightly strange experience at the warehouse sale - as the products don't look half as appealing as they do on the website, or even in the shop, as they are jumbled up on chipboard shelving or on the floor, and a lot of it is broken or damaged.  I noticed particularly the furniture does not look such great quality in that setting - but is still very expensive despite the 50% off....
Don't get me wrong - I love Graham & Green, and while there are some great bargains to be had if you're prepared to rummage, I guess the warehouse setting just takes the shine off it a little for me....
Saying that, I wish I had of come across a few more of their products there such as these....!
oh, and I'm 99% sure I spotted their lovely dog who features in all their photoshoots! awh!
The sale is on for one more day - Bank Holiday Monday - its worth a peek if you're around SW London.  Would love to hear what you thought if you visited this weekend!

Kitchen Inspiration

We are planning to give our kitchen a bit of a freshen up in the next week or two... as we save to do something a bit more drastic, we are just going to give it a lick of paint, some new shelves, hooks etc.

So I've been looking out for little bits of inspiration.  I love the bits and bobs on the shelf  on the left here - the muffin baking tray, glass bottles and number 3...
I really want to get some hooks like these for pots & utensils...
these hanging plants are great if you are short on surface space... (like me)
I love the shade of these units - I might go for this kind of colour for the walls....
and I love the mix of different shades of green here
and I plan to eventually lay some black and white floors tiles....

Aqua on Etsy

I love Etsy, there's such an amazing wide range of lovely items, but sometimes I just feel overwhelmed by it! Is it just me?! I visit the site every now and then for a browse, and for example today I searched 'Aqua' (my current fave colour!), and it brings back 143 pages of products! overwhelming, no?! Or am I doing something wrong?! After selecting the vintage section it did narrow things down a little, but still!
Anyway, here is a small selection of my faves from my Aqua search!

A Caravan called Constance

One of my most popular posts, according to my statistics over the last year, was one about vintage caravans -it seems like caravans and holidaying in the UK is definitely back to stay, and a recent book - My Cool Caravan: An Inspirational Guide to Retro-Style Caravans - demonstrates how caravans really are the new must have vehicle!
The authors of the book also run a website of the same name - My Cool Caravan - with lots of tips and inspiration for styling your own retro caravan.

My favourite caravan from the book was Constance - what a fab name! Shes just so pretty wih all her bunting and floral accessories!

Constance is also available to hire for photoshoots from Snail Trail

Summerill & Bishop

I cannot believe I have never came across the lovely kitchen shop Summerill & Bishop before! Their shop opened in 1994, long before I even moved to London, so their Notting Hill store is well established and loved by the likes of Designers Guild owner Tricia Guild and now moi!

Full of practical but pretty kitchenware, baking utensils, cookware and laundry essentials the website has a great range, and they should be adding their vintage items soon which are currently only available in the shop.
Here are some of my fave items....

Rattan boxes

So I know where I'll be heading next time I'm in Notting Hill!
Have you ever been? Would love to hear your thoughts on it!

PS Only 1 day left to enter my giveaway to win The Homemade Home book! I'm taking entries up until midnight on Fri 14th May, so hurry!
